PRC Turnaround 2025 – HOFCC FCCU Unit Upgradation

Sameep Engineering was entrusted with the PRC Turnaround 2025 for Petro Rabigh In association with L&T, executing critical shutdown works, equipment overhauls, safety inspections, and structural upgrades of the HOFCC FCCU Unit. As our second international project, it highlights our technical expertise, readiness, and commitment to delivering high-value shutdown solutions under challenging conditions.
A dedicated task force was established, with 1,050 skilled personnel mobilized and all essential tools, tackles, and logistics deployed to ensure smooth and efficient project execution. The scope covered removal of cyclones from the Rx and Rg units, removal & welding of 2.5 lakh anchors, replacement of internal and external attachments, and heavy equipment handling using precise rigging operations.
The project faced tough conditions, including extreme heat, staggered handovers, confined space work, operations at heights over 60 meters confined space working, and congested rigging areas. Each challenge was managed with strict safety measures and careful planning to ensure smooth execution.
The challenges were managed through day/night shifts with hydration, regular briefings, stronger communication, improved ventilation and monitoring in confined spaces, strict fall protection, and optimized planning to cut idle time.
The project was successfully completed with zero major safety incidents, delivered on time despite multiple challenges, and achieved optimized productivity in high-risk conditions. The efforts and results were highly appreciated by L&T Management, Petro Rabigh Management, and subcontractors, reinforcing Sameep Engineering’s reputation for safety, quality, and reliability in complex shutdown projects.
